Mercedes-Benz Stadium Information

Mercedes-Benz Stadium is the new home of the Atlanta Falcons. Breaking ground in May of 2014, the stadium is scheduled to open on July 30, 2017. The new stadium is located at 441 Martin Luther King Jr Dr NW in downtown Atlanta, next to the Georgia Dome, a building it is intended to replace. The stadium features a roof with eight triangular translucent panels that open above the field. It also features a 360 degree video board that extends from one 10 yard line to the other, curving around the endzones to make a complete oval.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium has three levels (100, 200 and 300 levels) and will hold 71,000 people. The stadium will be have an expandable seating capability for other events to 75,000 to 83,000 people. Mercedes-Benz Stadium also features retractable seating and curtains to limit the capcity to 40,000 seats for Atlanta United FC soccer games.

  • NCAA Men's college basketball Final Four in 2020.
  • Chick-fil-A Kickoff College Football Game on September 2, 2017, featuring the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Florida State Seminoles.
  • Chick-fil-A Kickoff College Football Game on September 4, 2017, between the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the Tennessee Volunteers.
  • SEC Championship Game beginning in 2017 and remain there until 2027.
  • 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship
  • Super Bowl LIII in 2019.
